Event Recap
40 residents attended in-person and an additional 20 tuned in online and from our satellite location in Bourne and Martha's Vineyard.
Residents from across the Cape Cod & Islands region came to our statewide listening series event in Hyannis on Thursday, Sept. 28th. The presentation and discussions touched on various aspects of digital equity, including language barriers, affordability, and access to devices. We heard directly from residents about critical issues related to affordability and accessibility and learned a lot about the community.
Thank you to our partners Cape Cod Commission, Cape Cod Tech Council, Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, Hyannis Chamber of Commerce, Cape Cod Young Professionals, Cape Cod Foundation, Cape & Islands Workforce Board, and the staff at from the Barnstable Town Hall for hosting us! Thank you to Ellen Sharpe, Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, for sharing that community's challenges and experiences with digital equity. We would also like to thank the Oak Bluffs Public Library on Martha's Vineyard and the Bourne Veteran’s Memorial Community Center for preparing and hosting the satellite sessions. We are grateful for all of those that assisted in our outreach efforts as well.
